Thanks for this, I’m just about to knit my third scarf and I think this would be a very nice stitch to use.

now, if someone tells me 17-year-old metalhead can’t knit a scarf, I am totally going to prove them wrong ;)

@tinamarie19752008 when I was a kid in Scotland we were taught to knit in school. That was the ONE thing I could never seem to do: ‘switch’ the yarn. My knitting always ended up a jumbled mess. As I got a bit older it somehow dawned on me just what I’d been doing wrong, and I began making clothes for my dolls. Now (much later on), I’m pretty much an intermediate knitter who can tackle just about any pattern, even cables. Learn the shape of the stitches: The v for knit, small ‘bobble’ for purl.

@EReader2010 If you’re finding her nail polish ‘distracting’ from the knitting, then you’re not interested in knitting, lol. I just watched the whole video and couldn’t tell you what was on her nails since I was focused on the pattern and the colour of the yarn, her style of knitting, the matching writing, etc. Let’s not get silly. Someone commenting on liking her nail polish is purely a nice thing to do.

Hi: Love this tutorial and basketweave, especially for beginners. My only quibble is that whomever did the printing really needs to change ‘pearl’ to purl, because it’s going to cause much confusion for new knitters since the same terms are used throughout the knitting world and if they learn the wrong term early on, they’ll never recognize the proper word in patterns. You also say ‘what this will yield us’ and the onscreen uses ‘lead’ instead. Basketweave is a great reversible pattern. :)

Hi.I’m from Serbia.21 y.old. I wonder, there is a slight difference in knitting here than what i usually see on youtube. Actually, most of us knit while holding excess of yarn on the left index finger. it goes really fast, unlike putting yarn between needles. At last, does it make a difference in the final product? Or is it just a different habit?
    Thanks for video posting :D

Thanks for the great example! You should note that your nail polish is very distracting. You should have a plain look to your nails, after all this video is about knitting not nail polish. That people are commenting on your nail polish proves my point.
